Welcome to Estrepreneur, a podcast for entrepreneurs and leaders doing business and life God's way. Each week, we discuss biblical and practical tips to improve your mind, business, to improve your mind, business, spirit, relationships, and finances. Listen along as I speak with special guests on how to thrive in all aspects of life. Hi, I'm Edna. Like many of you, I wear many hats. I'm a military wife, mother, author, certified John Maxwell business and executive coach, trainer, and founder of Favor and Wealth where we help the good guys win. So tune in as we bring on the light. Well, hello, everyone.
Edna Harding [00:00:46]:
Thank you for tuning in for another episode of the Entrepreneur podcast, where we teach you how to do business and life God's way. In this episode, we are going to talk about the promised land, specifically the journey to the promised land. And before we go into it, I want to ask you a very powerful question. Are you going to take 40 years like the Israelites or 11 days to reach your promised land? So we're going to be diving deep into the lessons from the Israelites wilderness journey and how their story can transform the way you approach your business and life. So I want you right now to grab your Bible, grab your notebook, grab your coffee or tea. If you're a tea person, I am a mushroom coffee person, because I'm telling you what we're about to study and uncover is going to challenge you and encourage you at the same time. So are you ready? Let's dive in by the way, before I do that. Thank you, holy spirit.
Edna Harding [00:01:49]:
I just wanna welcome all my new listeners. I am so excited that we're reaching new countries, new areas. I wanna welcome you guys from Poland, from Germany. What else did I saw that was new, somewhere in south America? I am just so thrilled that the gospel of Jesus in business is being reached, in countries that I could never set foot on at least right now. So I'm excited you guys are tuning in. I just wanna welcome you. And I hope that as I continue to share the revelation that God gives me in my personal walk, that it will be a blessing to you just as it's been a blessing to me. All right.
Edna Harding [00:02:27]:
So first let's start talking about the wilderness season and let's start with a little backstory in Deuteronomy chapter 1, verse 2, go ahead and open it up. It takes 11 days to go from Horeb to Kadesh Barnea by the Mount Syrah road 11 days. That's how long it should have taken for the Israelites to travel from Egypt to the edge of the promised land. But instead, it took them, what, 40 years. Again, f o r t y, years. That's more than 14 1000 days of wandering in circles. But why? Why? It was because of what? Fear, disobedience, and lack of faith in God's promises. You know, when I went to Israel back in was it 2,013? Oh my gosh.
Edna Harding [00:03:16]:
It's been a long time. I can't believe it. I was there for 40 days, and I remember I was just spending time with the Holy Spirit, really seeking him out and just asking him to reveal the mistakes that I had over that those past years before because I had just gotten out of an abusive marriage during that time. And I knew that I had no one else to blame but myself because he had given me so many warnings about him, as far as my ex. And thank God I was thanking him for a new start, a fresh a fresh time, a redemption of time. Thank you, holy spirit. It's like, what am I saying? And I remember when I was walking through the streets of Prague after because after Israel went to Prague and I also went to Russia, it was so freeing. And I remember I was telling God, I was like, I don't wanna make the same mistakes.
Edna Harding [00:04:11]:
I truly want to experience all that you have for me. And I knew that it was going to be a long journey. I knew that it was gonna take time because what I wasted 10 years, again, 10 years of my life, which was I was in that relationship for 10 years, and I could have gotten a lot done during those 10 years, but I was distracted by my ex and distracted by my poor choices. And I'm saying all of this to say that too many of us who may seem like, oh my gosh, it's too late. I can't redeem the time. There's no way I can go back. Well, guess what? Yes. You can't redeem your time, but God can.
Edna Harding [00:04:51]:
And he'll give you the wisdom to do it. So I want to, as I go into this lesson or this teaching, I want you to just really reflect on your journey. And I want you to ask yourself, are you in a wilderness season right now? Because maybe your business feels stagnant or maybe you're working hard, but you're not seeing results. Or maybe you're just hesitating to take a big step because it feels too risky. Let me tell you guys that you are not alone. The Israelites had the same struggles and many brothers and sisters in Christ are also struggling with the same exact thing. I was one of them. You know, the Israelites doubted God's provision.
Edna Harding [00:05:29]:
How many of us have doubted God's provision at some point they complain about the challenges. Hello? How many of us have complained about the challenges? They feared the giants in the promised land. Oh, hello. Yeah. There are lots of giants in the land and that could be what your health, lack of resources, lack of connections. Maybe there's a lot of competition in your field. So many different things that can be standing in the way of your land. But what if we learn to remember that the same God who parted the red sea for them is the same God that could part any obstacle for us.
Edna Harding [00:06:08]:
So what happened was when they focus so much on their fear, when they disobeyed God and they didn't believe God, they delayed their breakthrough. Now here's the reality. And I want you guys to hear me by way of the spirit. God had already prepared the promised land for them. It was ready. They didn't have to earn it or prove they were worthy of it. Oh, come on. My friends, they just had to trust him and take the steps to claim it.
Edna Harding [00:06:35]:
That is such a hard revelation. Can you guys think about I want you guys I'm gonna say that again because I think it's important that you guys hear it again because this isn't just a saying. Like, this is going to free you, my friends. This freed me. God had already prepared the promised land for them. God has already prepared the promised land for you, my friends. It was ready. It was done.
Edna Harding [00:07:02]:
They didn't have to earn it or prove they were worthy of it. They just had to trust him and take the steps to claim it. Okay. So let me, let me bring it back to you. My friends, God has already prepared a path for your success, for your business success, for your life success, for your mind success, for your impact and your purpose. But the question is, are you trusting him enough to take the steps to claim it, or are you delaying the process because of fear, doubt, or waiting for the perfect conditions? Let me ask you, how how often do you talk yourself about not taking action? So for example, you say stuff like I'm not ready, but what if I fail or I'll wait until I feel more confident? Here's the truth. My friends confidence doesn't come before action. It comes after you step out in faith.
Edna Harding [00:07:50]:
Faith is trusting what you can't see, but knowing that God is faithful to guide you every step of the way. K. Confidence is not gonna happen before action. Action. Come on. I am preaching right now. I hope you're, like, slapping the door or the table. It comes after you step out in faith.
Edna Harding [00:08:13]:
Confidence doesn't come before action. It comes after you step out in faith. That is one topic that I talk about in my business unlimited battle to booming program about having confidence in God that he has already gone before you. And so you're going to take the proper action regardless of how risky it is because he told you so and trust him with the consequences you see in Hebrews 11:6, it says without faith, it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him. Here's my here. I want you guys to listen to this really carefully. Okay? Faith based action is the difference between an 11 day journey and a 40 year wilderness. Boop.
Edna Harding [00:09:00]:
Mic drop. Faith based the faith based action. Come on, my friends. Is the difference between an 11 day journey and a 40 year wilderness. So let's talk about the mindset difference first before, before we go into the next part. There there's a mindset difference between a 40 year journey and a 12 day breakthrough. Are you ready? Let's talk about the 40 year mindset. What is it? The fear of failure, overthinking and procrastination, complaining instead of problem solving, refusing to step out of your comfort zone.
Edna Harding [00:09:39]:
You know, this mindset specifically keeps you circling around the same challenges again and again. So how about my people who are going around the same mountain over and over and over again? You might find yourself saying, I don't know why things aren't changing. But the truth is it's not because God hasn't provided. It's because you haven't taken the steps to move forward. Oh, come on. Have you taken the steps to move forward? You can't stay stuck. You have to take action. Now let's let's talk about the 12 day mindset.
Edna Harding [00:10:16]:
K. Number 1, trust God's promises. Do you trust the promises that God has said about you and your situation in his word in according to his prophets? The second thing, are you taking action even when it's uncomfortable? Hello. I've been doing that lately for the past couple weeks. And every time I obey that one little instruction, he gives me another instruction that's even harder, and I obey that and he gives me another instruction. But you know what the best part about it is I don't like, I just say yes to him even though it doesn't make sense to me at that time. And then when all of a sudden now I'm like, oh my gosh. That's why you told me to do that because of this and this and this.
Edna Harding [00:10:58]:
So he is truly orchestrating your footsteps. He is the master strategist when it comes to your life. So trust his voice. The third thing I wanna talk about is you as a 12 day mindset, you have to be willing to fail forward. It's okay to make mistakes. How many of us have like, oh my gosh, I'm so sorry. Like, you know how many times I apologize to God on a daily basis? A lot because I miss it. I'm thinking it's him, but it was actually the devil.
Edna Harding [00:11:27]:
But guess what? God is so good because he knows you have a heart that is pure and is truly seeking his will and you just didn't hear him right. Okay. So that's the third thing. Be willing to fail. Failure is part of it. And technically, you're not failing. You're actually stepping out in faith and that's not failing in my book. Alright.
Edna Harding [00:11:48]:
And then focus on progress, not perfection. You know, the Israelites could have reached the promised land in 12 days if they had faith and obedience. Right? It takes 11 days. It could have date in 12 days. What would happen? I want you guys to listen to me. If you approach your goals with that same mindset, do you believe you could reach a promised land instead of 40 years in 12 days? I I want you to think about that. I'm challenging myself, my friends. I'm just getting being vulnerable with you guys.
Edna Harding [00:12:19]:
I'm telling my challenging myself before the end of this year, make, okay, God, it might take me 40 years to reach the promise land if I continue to go the route that I was going through in years past. But what if this is a perfect opportunity for us to truly lined up with his truth, to truly believe that all things are possible with him, that your life can dramatically change in 12 days. Oh, that's a stat, that, that, that, that comp, that sentence even scares me just saying that, but you know what? I challenge accepted Lord challenge accepted. Okay. So let's get practical. Here are 3 steps that you need to help you move from wandering to walking with purpose. Ready? Number 1, you need to identify your wilderness behaviors. What are they? Let me tell let me let me just shoot it straight.
Edna Harding [00:13:15]:
Number 1, are you procrastinating on something God has called you to do? Number 2, are you waiting for the perfect conditions that might never come? Number 3, are you focusing more on the obstacles than the opportunities? I want you to write these down and I want you to remember that awareness is the first step to change. All right, let's go to number 2. You need to set Bible based or faith based goals. Okay. Ask yourself, what is one bold step I can take this week to move forward to my promised land? Number 2, remember that it isn't just in theory, it's actual action. Okay. A lot of people like, okay, from now on, I'm not gonna do this. Like, you have to do something with skin in it.
Edna Harding [00:14:04]:
Right? So for example, it could be launching that product. It could be making that sales call or it could be hiring that team member. Oh, I feel like I'm ruffling some feathers, my friends. And number 3, I want you to act before you feel ready. Remember, the Israelites didn't cross the Jordan until the priest stepped into the water. Oh, come on. Let me say this one more time. Remember my friends, the Israelites didn't cross the la come cross the Jordan until the priest stepped into the water.
Edna Harding [00:14:34]:
Because your breakthrough comes when you take the first step, even if you feel unprepared. Come on, lord. Even when you feel unprepared. So I'm gonna end with this in Joshua 19, God tells Joshua, be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid. Do not be discouraged for the Lord. Your God will be with you wherever you go. And that's the same for you.
Edna Harding [00:14:58]:
God is with you. Let me tell you the wilderness cycle can end. It can psych you. You have more power and authority than you think. A lot of us feels like we're getting beat up by the devil. And then I realized a few weeks ago, like recently, a few weeks ago that why am I in this cycle again? God gay God already defeated the foolishness. He defeated the foolish foe. K? I call him the foolish foe.
Edna Harding [00:15:23]:
Right? He defeated him. We the reason why people perish is because of lack of knowledge. And so I had to really no. The crazy thing, guys, you're gonna you're gonna laugh. I had to look at my journal from what is this? 2016, 2013. I had to look at previous journals to give me the answers for today. Because at that time, God was speaking to me already about what I need to do to take my business to the next level, but yet I was not listening or I wasn't able to see because of, thank you, holy spirit, the distractions of the enemy. Yes.
Edna Harding [00:16:00]:
I was going through so many challenges and turmoil and trauma and abuse and just being taken advantage of and just truly attacks from the enemy. I'm not gonna lie. That stuff is real. Okay? That stuff is real. I've been there. I've been there. I've been in situations where you can't even think. I've been in situation when you have sleepless nights, anxiety, stress, fear.
Edna Harding [00:16:23]:
I mean, is I I've been in those situations, my friends. And I'm not talking about little situations like, oh, I have a headache. I'm talking about big traumatic challenges that I had to overcome, and I did with God's help. But he gave me the solutions back then, and I'm only able to implement it now. Why? How? Because I finally took authority over the devil and I told him enough. Enough. Enough. Enough.
Edna Harding [00:16:49]:
And you overcome the enemy by what? The blood of a lamb and the word of your testimony. And what is the blood of the lamb? The blood of the lamb is the blood of Jesus Christ that paid the price for our ultimate victory. And who is Jesus Christ? He is the word. And who is the word? The word Jesus is the word in flesh, which means what has the final say? What overcomes the enemy? It's the word of God. So for the past few months, all I've been doing is decreeing the word of God over every situation, over every circumstance, even though I was going through a lot of fatigue and physical attacks and so many things that just made me question, like, am I insane, Or does the attacks feel heavy these past few months? And it was because of where I am right now. God is putting everything together. He's revealing to me the next season of my life, and he's showing me how to end this previous season well and not, drop the ball with the people that I've already helped and what I could continue to help because of the systems he gave through me. And so my point in saying this, he you have to trust the process, trust the journey and trust that he will work all things for our good somehow, even the things that the enemy meant for bad.
Edna Harding [00:18:07]:
Okay? So here's a big question I wanna ask you. Are you going to take 40 years or 12 days? The choice is yours. God has already prepared your promised land, but it's up to you to take the steps to claim it. Now if this episode spoke to you, I'd love for you to share it with someone or you who might need some sort of encouragement today. Or I would love for you to leave me a review or, what do you call that thing? What's that word? When you put the stars, I I forgot what it's called. Yeah. Review or rank it. I don't even know what you call it.
Edna Harding [00:18:44]:
My my brain is going blank. Okay. That totally ruined my ending, but it's okay. So just go ahead and, you know, rank me or leave 5 stars so that I could get some more reach because I would love to continue to share the nuggets that wisdom got put in my heart. Okay. Don't forget to download our free resources on my website, favor and wealth.com to help you take action and move forward. There are prayers out there, there's productivity, checklist. And I also have a business unlimited growth mentoring program.
Edna Harding [00:19:19]:

You could join any time throughout the year. I would love to have you go to favor and wealth dot com and go to services and click growth mentoring programs and apply because I am not taking everybody because the Lord is very specific on how I'm gonna handle that program because he doesn't want me to cast my pearls to swine, but would love to have you if there's something, if this is something that you want to learn about, and how to and you need support and the systems that you help that you need in order for you to reach your promised land shorter, even 12 days. I don't know if I could promise 12 days, but a lot shorter than 40 years, for sure. So until next time, remember that God's plan for you are good. And your promised land is closer than you think.
