Well, hello, everyone.
Edna Harding [00:00:47]:
Thank you for tuning in for another episode of the Estopreneur podcast. Welcome back my fellow kingdom builders. This is your host. My name is Edna Harding, and I'm thrilled to have you join me today, tonight, tomorrow to eat. I mean, tomorrow, this evening, whatever time you are tuning in from tuning in from, from all over the world. Sorry guys. My tongue is getting twisted here. Today we're tackling a powerful topic, which is how to move from being unknown in your industry to becoming a recognized and trusted voice all while saying rooted in biblical principles.
Edna Harding [00:01:27]:
Now I wanna start off with prayer. I truly believe that we are entering in a season of divine enlargement. We are entering into a season of acceleration and not just saying that because that is a fad word or that's what's all the prophetic voices are saying. I truly believe that it is happening fast because that's exactly what's happening to me just these past couple weeks in January. I'm seeing things happen in like, like it just happened so fast. Like for example, I updated my book, the ugly side of sales, the one that took me almost a year to do in 2016, I was able to do it in a weekend for the updated version, the ugly side of sales 2.0. And, and I was able to create the book cover myself. I was able to come up with the, the copy myself on the back of the book, right.
Edna Harding [00:02:22]:
Getting it formatted into a way where I can publish it myself on Amazon, KDP. And I even have software now to be able to do that so that I could help my clientele create their own book as well and do, you know, publish their book as well. So that's just one prime example that happened this past weekend. I got 2 new clients in the matter of 3 days without even trying, you know? So I say all this to say that we are truly living in a time where God is going to reward those who have been faithful with a little with, with much more. And so I just wanna open up with prayer. So heavenly father, thank you for this opportunity to gather and grow. Lord, we ask for wisdom and discernment as we seek honor to you, in our work, in our calling, in our ministry, in our families, in our areas of influence and everything that concerns us, God made this episode, inspire and equip listeners to step boldly Lord into whatever their assignment or God given calling is. We ask this in your mighty name, Lord Jesus.
Edna Harding [00:03:31]:
Amen. All right. So I wanna start off with a quick story. You know, 2 years ago, a client came to me in tears. She was an expert in helping businesses scale. But no one knew who he was, who she was. Right. And I remember she said, Edna, I'm doing all the right things, posting on social media, attending networking events, you know, speaking at conferences, like soliciting business left and right no networking go like nonstop right meetings 3 or 4 meetings a day kind of thing but she still felt invisible Now her story might sound familiar.
Edna Harding [00:04:15]:
Maybe you feel like that, that you're working harder than ever, but you're not seeing the impact you envisioned. And I wanna say this, that the problem isn't your effort. Okay? The problem isn't your effort. It's your approach. Because here's the truth, guys. Visibility isn't about being seen. K. It's about being known.
Edna Harding [00:04:39]:
Okay. I hope you hear me by way of the spirit. Visibility isn't, is not about being seen. It's about being known and being known isn't about self promotion. K. It's not. It's about divine alignment with God's purpose for your life. Okay.
Edna Harding [00:05:00]:
Meaning not just known by man, but known by God because you are operating in a way that God created you. I hope you hear me by way of the spirit, my friends. Okay. So I'm gonna dig into that today. I'm not gonna make this episode long. I hope to be out of here probably in 20 minutes. So, I hope this blesses you. Okay.
Edna Harding [00:05:27]:
So let's go ahead and dig in. Let's talk about biblical wisdom on influence and visibility. You see God's way of making you known. Isn't about striving. Okay. It's about positioning. Okay. I want you to look at Daniel, right? He didn't chase recognition.
Edna Harding [00:05:44]:
Think about this. He did it. He didn't like, oh, I want to be recognized. No, he just focused on excellence and obedience, right? Daniel 6:3 says, now, Daniel, administrators and the satraps by his exceptional qualities that the king plan to set him over the whole kingdom. His faithfulness elevated him in God's timing. So when he was obedient wherever God put him and he stewarded well, he outgrew his current positioning. Okay. So God used a man to promote him because the level of excellence and the level of work, the level outcome, the level results this person was bringing was higher than his current role.
Edna Harding [00:06:36]:
And so his gifts, hear me, his gifts and call made room for him. Right? And so a lot of times, what I see in the marketplace is people are gonna charge, oh, I've charged a $100,000 Okay. Where'd you pull that number out of? You know, I was gonna say another thing, but I don't wanna say something. Lord forgive me for going down that way. But but a lot of people just pull numbers for the sake of pulling numbers. Like I'm more to a $100,000 so I'm gonna charge a $100,000 or I wanna be a leader of this organization. I'm just gonna apply. I'm gonna get it.
Edna Harding [00:07:08]:
No. I remember this is a side story. I remember, when I was working in Houston, I had my business there and I was working with a lot of clients. And, specifically, one thing that's coming to my mind is there is this, what is it called? A plumbing business, a plumbing yeah. He was the owner of a plumbing business. And he was saying that a lot of young people who graduate from high school or even college don't want to be plumbers. Like they think they're above plumbers when in reality plumbers make good money and they make 6 figures. Okay.
Edna Harding [00:07:42]:
But they don't want to do the dirty work. Right. And, but they want to make 6 figures, but they don't want to do the dirty work. Right. They want to just sit in the office and just type away and make 6 figures. When in reality, you see people pay you based on the value you bring to them or or based on how you solve that person's problem. So I say to this, I say all this to say, just back to Daniel, he, he, the reason why he was recognized in his spear was because of his work, right? His exceptional qualities. And I wanna ask you, like, based on your current workload and what you're currently doing right now, would you say that you have exceptional qualities that makes you stand out among your peers or even be in the same wavelength as your peers, but then you want God to promote you, but yet you don't, you don't stick out.
Edna Harding [00:08:37]:
You're just like, you're either beneath them or you're blending in with them. Like, in order for you to get known by the world, is you have to operate in a way that distinguishes you from the world, whether if it's your approach or even outcome or result or your process. But most importantly, the results you bring also, is better than what the world does. Right? And so I want to give you another example real quick, Esther, you know, she didn't seek the throne, right? She was positioned for such a time as this. Her influence came through what preparation, obedience and trust in God. Okay. So here's the principle. God opens doors that no man can shut when you're faithful in the small things.
Edna Harding [00:09:24]:
And I know it sounds so simple. Okay. That's found in Luke 16:10. Okay. It's simple, but it's not easy. Right? Because instead of striving for visibility, which a lot of people do, especially on social media, Instagram, Facebook, even LinkedIn, sometimes I get caught up in that cycle. You have to focus more on positioning yourself in alignment with what God called you to do at that time. So I remember before, the holy spirit told me, I don't want you out there promoting yourself.
Edna Harding [00:09:56]:
I want you to prepare with me. Like, meaning he wants to give me strategies to prepare for the customers. And I'm like, well, how am I gonna get customers of not promoting myself? Cause I know, you know, they always say in sales, like the more contacts you have, the more opportunities you have, the more opportunities you have, the more sales you have. So it's a numbers game, but with the holy spirit, he told me, he was like, less is more. So basically he told me, like, I do the work on the backend and he'll do the work on the front end. So the point is, like he said, I want you to prepare for these high value clients that you want by equipping yourself, whether if it's through, learning, you know, learning the new tricks and trades, being good at what I do, creating systems, having the, the abilities and the skillset to not just in a natural way. Like I, I have natural giftings, but over extending myself, meaning learning things above and beyond what my role is so I could better serve my customer. If that makes sense.
Edna Harding [00:10:58]:
So let me give you an example. So instead of just sales and marketing, right, I learned the financial side when it comes to business, I learned emotional intelligence. I learned the leadership side. I learned the, business and I'm sorry, the, yeah, the business intelligence. I also learned the artificial intelligence, you know, obviously the divine intelligence. I learned things that most sales and marketing experts don't really think about. They focus on sales and marketing, but in reality, the Lord showed me that I need to look at the person as a whole, because I know in scriptures it says you will prosper just as your soul prospers. And what is your soul is your mind.
Edna Harding [00:11:39]:
Right? And so what did I do? I got certified in cognitive coaching, specifically master mindsets coaching when it comes to cognitive behavior therapy, right? And emotional intelligence and RABT and all this other stuff. I'm not saying this to brag, but I'm saying to say, like, you have to position yourself so that people will see your value versus you telling them your value. Okay. Do you hear me? Like, when people start talking to you, they will know if you know what you're talking about or if you're reading a script. So let me give you guys an example. So I know of this bear just flow with me guys. I remember so yesterday oh, no. 2 days ago, long story short, my my cover for my tooth, which was covering my root canal.
Edna Harding [00:12:28]:
What do you call that? My crown, thank you, Elizabeth. My crown fell off while I was kick while I was, eating. So I'd say we scheduled an emergency dentist appointment yesterday so that my the tooth fell off. The crown fell off on was it Tuesday? Yeah. Tuesday Wednesday oh, wait. No. Yeah. Wednesday yesterday was when I went to the dentist appointment.
Edna Harding [00:12:51]:
Anyway, long story short, there was this guy who was my dentist. He was the only one available. Anyway, he was trying to sell me on redoing my crown because he said it's gonna fall off. But basically basically explaining how the person, the dentist who did my original tooth was didn't do it right. And so his thing was like, okay, well, let me go ahead. And my recommendation is we'll get it redone, but then it might, it might hit a nerve and basically say that that it's possible that my root canal is gonna I'm a have to do the root canal again. And I'm like, okay. And I was explaining to him what I wanted.
Edna Harding [00:13:35]:
I was like, listen, I'm not trying to get another root canal done. I was like, that is time consuming. It's expensive. You know, being in a military, you don't really have a lot of great dental coverage. A lot of it came out of pocket. I remember the one that specific one that I did not even a little over a year ago, okay, was like was it a $2,000, like, or an 1800 or something like that. I'm like, I'm not about to spend $1800 on another tooth that I already paid $1800 for. Okay? So anyway, that's side note.
Edna Harding [00:14:07]:
But this guy was not hearing me. He just kept trying to pitch this. I'm like, I'm telling you, I don't want I don't want the I don't want you to redo the whole thing. I just want you to screw back or cement back the crown on my tooth. And finally the office manager kind of stepped in because I don't think he was hearing me. He's like, but he was trying to explain to me like, well, you know, he was just trying to reason with me. I was like, I told you when I want it, you know? And so long story short, the office manager stepped in. He's like, I know what you're saying.
Edna Harding [00:14:36]:
It's like, it's fine. There's if it could fit, there's no issues putting back the crown and so forth. And the the, you know, the thing the thing went on. So my point is, like, yes. If if this guy beside it's not like he was, like, reading a script. Like, he sounded very like, okay, this is what you say. It wasn't very personable. Like, he didn't even like, it was very, like, transactional and not very in tune with what I am trying to set, tell this guy that I don't have the time.
Edna Harding [00:15:07]:
My husband's gonna go out of town. I have 2 little children and I have a lot of things I gotta get done, you know, in a short amount of time. So anyway, I say all this to say that, no, he didn't get my money. I think if he explained the benefits better or not or maybe took the time to listen or maybe explain, you know, more the the the benefits rather than the drawbacks of getting it done. I mean, the only thing that he said was like, okay. He said more negative and then it actually, there wasn't even anything positive, he said. So I'm like, why am I gonna spend? Because he said he cannot guarantee that he won't hit my nerve and he can't guarantee that I won't have a root canal again. He can't guarantee that the thing will come off.
Edna Harding [00:15:52]:
I'm like, okay, so what can you guarantee? And what am I paying you for? Right. So what am I saying? Why am I saying this? I'm trying to get the holy spirit. I get back, get back to the point. The point is if you're trying to convince someone, okay, to take your money or to, to, to give you money, you better know what you're talking about and you better truly understand what the customer on the other side needs. And you better understand what kind of solutions you could provide that will solve the customer's needs versus just talking out of a script and basically, leaving them in a worse predicament, right, or in a worse situation than when they came there came for their 4 year. I'm hoping that making sense. Okay? So, again, you have to show yourself as if like, you know your stuff, right? You have to position yourself for that ability. I'm sorry for that.
Edna Harding [00:16:52]:
Sorry guys, but you have to position yourself so that the customer wants to give you your money, Right? Versus you trying to convince them to give you your money. And the only way for that to happen is you have to know your stuff. Right? Just like Daniel and just like Esther. Right? She knew her stuff. She knew how to talk to the king. Because remember, I forgot the name of the servant of the the the, I forgot. Is it king Sarsees? I forgot. But the name of the king's servant, he the servant, was teaching, teaching Esther how to behave.
Edna Harding [00:17:30]:
And so she prepared for that promotion. Okay. Now let's get practical. I said I wasn't gonna be here long and look what is happening right now. Okay. So if you're feeling stuck or invisible in your here are 3 tips to help you move from being unknown to being known. Number 1, I want you to refine your kingdom message. What does that mean? I want you to spend time with God to clarify your unique calling.
Edna Harding [00:17:56]:
I want you to ask yourself, what problem has God equipped me to solve? Number 2, who am I called to serve? And number 3, how can I communicate my my solution with clarity and confidence? That's what you call your $1,000,000 message. Right? So for me, I have different types of spiel. But the first one is, sorry. My brain is my that something got caught in my tooth the same place. Devil is a liar. I know I wasn't supposed to eat anything because the cement wasn't dry. Anyway, back on to show. Okay.
Edna Harding [00:18:33]:
So mine is I help you go from known to known utilizing timeless wisdom and timely methods. Right? And so utilizing biblical wisdom and timely methods. Another thing I'd say is I help you win and grow business the right way. I help you. Another thing that I say is I help you master your soul sales and stewardship. You know, I'm very for fulfilling business life. So I'm very like specific in what I say. And I'll have a few that I switch around depending on, especially if I see, like for example, at the chamber, I always go to their networking events.
Edna Harding [00:19:02]:
And so I don't want to keep saying the same thing. So I give alternatives to my $1,000,000 message. Okay. So that's number 1. The second thing you need to do is focus on excellence, not exposure. You know, like Daniel distinguish yourself through the quality of your work, right? This doesn't mean striving for perfection, but consistently delivering value that honors God. You know, Colossians 3/23 says, whatever you do work at it with all of your heart as working for the Lord and not for human masters. Here's the thing, guys.
Edna Harding [00:19:32]:
Remember this. If any you get anything out of this, remember this Excellence builds trust. Excellence. Excellence. It's not how often they see you. It's excellence. Do you provide excellent work? And remember that excellence not only build trust, but it also opens doors for greater influence, which is why, you know, in the beginning, you have to start small. Right? You gotta you know, even though if it's simple, you could still make it professional.
Edna Harding [00:20:07]:
Does that make sense? So a lot of times, you could tell they just put it together, like, the that day, that morning. Like, they don't put any effort in it. So for me, for example, I just met with a new client, on Monday or Tuesday who became a new client, and it was an initial session with me. I was doing questions, and I went above and beyond. Right? In the beginning, you're supposed to ask questions, but I also started giving them ideas. And I I did a lot of research. I did a lot of work, considering it was just a q and a part discuss getting to know each other. And I showed to them not just the, what, what we were going to do, which is the Q and A, but I also started showing, giving them ideas for how to grow, you know, their revenues.
Edna Harding [00:20:57]:
And I gave them specific strategies, even industries that they could, they could focus on. So what am I saying? Like I went above and beyond and the guy was really happy. And I ran into one of his employees at a networking event. And she said, like, I, my boss keeps talking about you, how great you are. And do you see how just that going above and beyond and showing quality work and showing yourself like as an excellent spirit that will open doors for more business because you showed up and showed out, when you could have just been average, right? I never settle for average. I always go above and beyond, especially in my strength zone, right? So remember that, guys. Focus on excellence. It's not how many networking events you have.
Edna Harding [00:21:46]:
It's not how many times you post on LinkedIn. You know, I post on LinkedIn regularly, but I focus more on serving my clients. And then I post, right. I don't do the other way around, like focus on profitable activities, focus on the things that's going to position you for more. The third thing you want to do is you want to surround yourself with your values and vision. What does that mean? You need to cultivate strategic relationships. You wanna pray for divine connections, right? Be intentional about building relationships. Ecclesiastes 49, it says 2 are better than 1 because they have a good return for their labor.
Edna Harding [00:22:23]:
So remember this, that your success is often tied to the right partnerships and collaborations. Don't be afraid to collaborate with people in your industry. Or like for example, today, just literally just happened today. I ran into someone who did exact, who does exactly what I do, except she's really specializes on funnels and marketing and all the, yeah, I know how to do that stuff. She wanted to collaborate or talk together and get to know each other. And most most of the time when you meet people who doesn't do they like get they get like, oh, like, I'm you know, I don't wanna meet with you or I don't wanna, you know, whatever. But to me, I'm like, yeah. You know, one thing I found is even if you guys are in the same industry or the same type of business, remember that we all have our own fishes.
Edna Harding [00:23:11]:
Like even like, there's some people that is just gonna click with her and there's some people that's just gonna click with me. Right? It's not a competition. There is enough fishes in the sea. Okay? You have to have that, that mindset of abundance. Like, don't be afraid to say like, oh no. I mean, don't be afraid to partner with people in the same niche as you because that is when you're really secure in your call or you're really secure in how God made you and your gifts and talents because you realize that whoever's for you is gonna be for you, and those who don't work with you don't work with you. It's not against you. It's just they don't they they have someone else that they prefer with, and then you can't take it personal.
Edna Harding [00:23:57]:
Okay. A lot of times people take business personal. It's not. No. Everyone has a different methodology. I mean, I've I've worked with people who I thought would be a good fit for me, and they just didn't like my style. Like, my approach was a little bit abrasive or a little bit like, I'm very, very, like, let's get this done. Go get her.
Edna Harding [00:24:19]:
Let's move along. Progress. I mean, what kind of, like, literally just happened the other day. I had a client and she paid me in advance and she wasn't doing the work. Right? And, I basically told her, I was like, hey, I need you to step up and actually get some work done and follow follow through with your vow to yourself and your commitment to the program, or I'm gonna let you go. I am going to, like, end the the relationship. And basically, and not in a bad way, but just like, I don't want and I told her, I don't wanna waste your money. It's all about stewardship.
Edna Harding [00:24:59]:
Right? Like, I'm not gonna let God's people waste their money on me if they're not doing the work because they're not gonna get the results. Right? So those are just examples. Okay? So my point is what was my point on that? Oh, yeah. So my point is, like, everyone has their own audience. So having strategic relations to people even in the same exact business as you is not a bad thing. Like, don't be afraid to collaborate. Alright? Okay. So, I want to talk about, another client.
Edna Harding [00:25:33]:
It's like, what was I talking about? Okay. So let me just look at my notes here. Another client, oh, I already I don't wanna really talk about that. Okay. So another this is another example. So another client came to me, who has been trying everything from ads, social media, email campaigns. Okay. But it wasn't getting trans transactions.
Edna Harding [00:25:56]:
So what we did was we focused his, efforts on clarity, on excellence, on relationships, and everything changed. Like he knew exactly what he does. Well, he didn't sell anything he doesn't does well do well in. He had clarity on his target avatar. He focused on a specific niche, right? He worked on developing these relationships or strategic partnerships and everything changed. You know, within weeks he signed on 3 new high ticket clients and one even told him, I feel like you've been sent to help me. Okay. Oh, you know, the best compliment I got this week was one of the ladies who is now my client, that I spoke with.
Edna Harding [00:26:41]:
She said, I wish I knew so 10 years ago, she had a business. She hired a business consultant and she said, I wish 10 I knew you 10 years ago when I started my business. And I said, I don't think you wish you knew me 10 years ago because I'm not as smart as I am right now. But my point like, I as I would be right now. My point is, the the when you know you're operating in your gifting, you are going to get compliments like that. Like, I wish I knew you before. I wish this and this. I wish you're like you know, you're you're such a blessing.
Edna Harding [00:27:18]:
I've heard so many things like, oh my gosh, you changed my life. Like those types of stuff, or, oh my gosh, you do have no idea how much joy this brings to me. You have no idea. I feel alive again. I I'm motivated again. Like stuff like that. Like that makes my heart so happy because that means I'm operating in the gifts that God gave me. Okay.
Edna Harding [00:27:39]:
All right. So let me move forward because time is going by fast. Okay. So if you're ready to step into your divine positioning and finally be known for the unique gifts God has given you, I want you to help. I want to help you. Okay. I want you to help. Yeah.
Edna Harding [00:27:54]:
I want you to help yourself and hire me. Okay. No, no, all jokes aside. Okay. I have several ways where we can work together. We can work 1 on 1. We could join my group coaching program that we meet on a weekly basis. I have two levels.
Edna Harding [00:28:10]:
I have a basic, essential, and premium. This is all my website, by the way. Depending on what type of engagement you want. Or we also have I also have a self paced version, which is 97 a month. That's the lowest level of, amount you could work with me. You get access to my online program, my software, and all that stuff, but you also get access to q and a session 10 times a year. Okay? So, I mean, you really have no excuse. And I, you know, I my one on ones is $3,000 for 4 hours.
Edna Harding [00:28:45]:
That is what my starting prices for my one on ones. So the next of the bet is the group coaching. And why I say all of this to say, like, stop wasting time, like, get out of your, pity zone and step into your, your reigning zone. Okay. R EIGNIG, right? Reigning zone. Okay. Cause we're going to help you uncover. What's keeping you hidden.
Edna Harding [00:29:10]:
We're going to create a strategy tailored to your calling, and then we're gonna map out your 90 days for growth or even your year growth. Right? I always like to focus on 90 days because that's more, more doable. So I would say, let's focus on your 1st 90 days and go to the next 90 days and you go to the next 90 days, okay, from day to day precept to precept so that we can monitor your performance and see if we are seeing actual results. Right? And if not, we need to tweak some of the things that I'm teaching you. Alright. So remember guys that king that first of all, you know, kingdom builders are different from regular people. Okay. Kingdom builders.
Edna Harding [00:29:47]:
When I say kingdom builders, you're building the kingdom of God. Okay? You're building souls. You're bidding, building, souls by either ministering through your businesses or your building kingdom or building souls by, funding the gospel. Okay? So you're funding the gospel or you're building souls by ministering through your business. Okay. Does that make sense? Okay. Remember guys, this, that you were not created to blend in. You were created to stand out for God's glory.
Edna Harding [00:30:19]:
Remember that your voice matters. Your gift is needed. Okay. Don't ever let anyone tell you that your gift is not needed, or you're not going to be able to help anybody. Or who are you? Right? Like if God has something inside your heart, inside of your spirit, no more delay. It's time to rise up and set boldly into all that God has for you. You know, someone is waiting for your answer. Someone is waiting for your offer.
Edna Harding [00:30:44]:
Someone who would never work with me would actually work with you. Right? This is not a time to be a hoarder. This is a time to really like partner with other kingdom minded business owners, entrepreneurs, and leaders, and work together for the common good, which is what? Right? Which is what? To take back, you know, the inheritance of the Lord from the kingdom of darkness and bringing into the kingdom of light as well as fund the gospel. Okay. So I hope this bless you. I hope that this encourage you. And I hope that you remember that you truly are the salt of the light and the light of this world. And we just need to steward our gifts well and trust God to position us for impact.
