Well, hello, everyone.
Edna Harding [00:00:47]:
Thank you for tuning in for another episode of the Estrepreneur podcast. My name is Edna Harding, and I just wanna welcome you guys, Especially, you know, I just wanted you know, I was so excited because I haven't looked at the analytics for my podcast in a while, and I was so excited to see that I gained some traction in Spain. I have a lot of listeners in United Kingdom, in the UK. I have a lot of listeners in Singapore, South Korea. I'm looking at it now. I've even reached Morocco, Japan, Canada, Russia, come on, Jesus, Kenya, Ghana, Rwanda, India, Netherlands, Nigeria, Germany, France, Bangladesh, and Brazil. Like, this was just in the past few months, and I'm just like, oh my gosh. I'm, like, freaking out because I knew God called me to the nations, and I didn't realize how that was going to happen.
Edna Harding [00:01:52]:
I always thought, you know, you would have to travel to speak to the nations, especially because that's what I did. I used to travel and speak at different conferences. And because I'm a military wife and have young children, in fact, my husband's out of town again, Like, it's challenging to, you know, to fly somewhere to another country to teach and share what God has put in my spirit when it comes to business. And to see that, you know, the reach is reaching, like, oh my gosh, like, countries I didn't even think would care about learning about business God's way. I'm so excited too that you guys are tuning in. So I just wanna welcome you all and thank you again for your support. And so I wanted to, kinda just, just welcome you guys. And for those of you guys who are new to my channel, I just wanted to say that you're in the right spot because I've been praying for you.
Edna Harding [00:02:49]:
I know that every single person that listens to these episodes or, just watch online, I know that there is a reason. And, the holy spirit is really good at directing the right people to the right episodes. And I just wanna say that if you're listening to this, I believe you're truly going to be blessed. So I'm just gonna open up in a word of prayer. So, father god, I just lift up my family who's listening, Lord, on the other side of these airwaves. God, I thank you, father, that you have brought them here for a reason, God. And as I speak on this topic that you have put in my heart, Lord God, I pray, oh God, that you will silence my flesh and speak through me, Holy Spirit, and let my words be few and your words take over, Lord God. May you be honor.
Edna Harding [00:03:41]:
May you be glorified. In Jesus Christ, we love you. In Jesus' name, amen. Okay. So lately, I have been just challenged by the Holy Spirit and by spiritual parents to really speak boldly about the topics that God has put in my spirit. And so I noticed that that ever since, oh my gosh, we reached this month in October, the Lord has really been teaching me to be bold and courageous, which in my mind, I was thinking I was already being bold and courageous. And and I'm learning to truly embrace everything that called me to be, the everything that God called me to be. And so I wanted to address a system that is clearly operating in our day to day lives and has been operating in our day to day lives since, gosh, since the systems of the world began.
Edna Harding [00:04:44]:
And so today, I wanna talk to you guys about bail and specifically the psychological impact of living under the bail system. Now for some of you guys, you probably don't know, well, what is Baal exactly. Baal is essentially the God of the Babylonian system. And for those of you guys who are my history buffs, specifically bible history buffs, there's so many scriptures that talks about 2 systems that were operating back then, and I truly believe it's still operating now. And so let me go ahead and give you guys a little history lesson, and then we'll dive deep into this episode. You know, in ancient times, Baal was actually worshiped as a god of fertility and power, but his worship often led into corruption and immorality. So this isn't just an ancient issue if you think about it. Right? Because it mirrors today's environment where what? Greed, power, and materialism are worshiped.
Edna Harding [00:05:48]:
Right? So these systems right now impact us deeply, not just externally, but also internally, which then affects our spirit, of course, our psyche. Right? Our our our mindset. And and, you know, it's it's amazing to me that we're kinda clueless about it. We're clueless about what, you know, what systems we're operating in. And I and, you know, it's so funny. Like, someone, like, asked me, like, how could you be so bold and share you know, you're not afraid to ruffle the feathers. You're not afraid to confront the ideologies that have existed for such a long time. And I remember I answered, and this happens multiple times about various things, is I said, I can't ignore it.
Edna Harding [00:06:43]:
Because once God enlightens you, once he gives you insight and knowledge and revelation, you can't go back. I wish I was ignorant sometimes. Like, I wish I didn't know what I know because it makes life easier because you just blend in with everybody else, and you say what everybody else say, and you're not there ruffling the feathers and putting a target on your back. I hate the fact that I'm on the enemy's radar. And when I say enemy, I'm gonna talk about a person. I'm talking about Satan. And and especially because I'm a lover. I'm not a fighter.
Edna Harding [00:07:19]:
You know? I love people. And for those of you guys who have known me for such a long time, I have seen the ugly side of individuals, and I have seen I've been betrayed and hurt and rejected and broken by so many different individuals that I respected, that I love, and and we'll talk about traumatic experiences. Right? And for somehow, I can still love them because I know it's not them, and I know it's a spirit. And so, why am I saying all of this? I'm saying that it's so important for us to really see things from God's lens because he will remove our blind eyes, and he will show us things that we cannot see in the natural and that it truly takes the holy spirit to reveal those things to us. So to start us off, I want to share a story that brings this concept to life real quick, and to help you kinda understand what this system I'm talking about is. So I want you to imagine a thriving ancient city bustling with commerce and activity. Right? And, in the heart of the city stands a grand temple of Baal, k, representing the community's allegiance to power and wealth above all else. K? Now imagine a young merchant or businessman, let's call him Eli, finds himself swept into the city's ways, adopting every single practice the city has to succeed in business.
Edna Harding [00:09:05]:
Yet, despite all his successes, despite all his accolades and how popular and how famous he is, he still feels, excuse me, profound emptiness. Excuse me. Wow. Like, emptiness. Okay? So his story is much like a lot of people I know today, caught in the systems that demand compromise and sacrifice at the altar of success. Okay? You know what's so funny? Now my nose is itchy. It wasn't like that earlier for the past 8 hours. So, apparently, this is a message that I need to share.
Edna Harding [00:09:51]:
So how many of you guys have reached all the accolades, have experienced all the successes, are very well known in your industry, very well known in your field, very well known in your community, but yet you still feel empty. So this is common a lot, and you'd be surprised. You know, a lot of times when people don't have that, they think that once they get that, they'll feel complete. Right? Once they get the better car, once they get the better promotion, once they have a $1,000,000, like, once they have, you know, all of the a 1000000 followers, whatever. Like, they think that life is going to be better, that life is going to change. And because that is the picture that the world is painting in the world today. Right? That's what you see all over social media. That's what you see in LinkedIn.
Edna Harding [00:10:43]:
That's what you see everywhere. Right? All in the boo boards. Right? They aren't they, what's that word? They praise, like, wealth, power, you know, sexuality. Like, that is something that people want. Right? They wanna be sexy. They wanna be beautiful. They want to be powerful. They want to be recognized.
Edna Harding [00:11:07]:
They just want the life that the systems of the world offer. And so I want you to as we I I'm gonna go set I'm basically I'm gonna, ask you 5 questions. And what I want you to do is to evaluate your lives and see if these 5 signs are things that you're experiencing right now. Because if you are, you could be operating under a modern day bail system. Okay. I'm gonna drink some water here because, again, I said my throat is itchy, but we're gonna get through this. Alright. So the first symptom is persistent discontent.
Edna Harding [00:12:00]:
What does that mean? Does success to you feel empty? So are you chasing the wind as Solomon lamented in Ecclesiastes? Do you feel empty? And only you can answer that. Do you feel empty? Number 2, have you ever found yourself justifying actions that conflicts with your faith? Are you compromising on your values, on the things that you know are right, but you're not saying it, or you're ignoring those things that you know is going against the standards that the Bible has for you. And you're justifying those actions, or you're justifying or you're justifying the sin even, you know, even though you know that it contradicts what the word of God says. K. That's number 2. The third symptom is spiritual stagnation. Is your spiritual life suffering somehow because of your environment? Are you always in a hustle bustle, hustle, hustle, hustle, hustle, hustle, right, constantly on the chase and don't really have time to sit at Jesus' feet to really listen to his heart and hear his still voice as he speaks to us by his word or through the Holy Spirit. Number 4, and this is the big one, relationships constraints.
Edna Harding [00:13:43]:
Are your relationships deteriorating because of your pursuits? You know what's so funny? I truly believe that God does give us dreams, and he gives us visions, and he gives us assignments, and he gives us goals, that he wants us to accomplish during our lifetime. But I also believe that there is a certain pace of grace that he wants us to run with, when we are pursuing these things. And it should never come to the expense of our family, our children, our marriage. Right? Like, our relationships are the only thing that we can bring to heaven. We cannot bring material things. We cannot bring our bank accounts. We cannot bring our houses. We cannot bring our cars.
Edna Harding [00:14:34]:
We cannot bring our mansions, but we can bring other souls. And it's funny to me it's interesting not funny. It's interesting to me how the enemy truly tries to blind you by making you want and pursue other things except relationships. So you'll rather pursue the shallow things, things that make you feel good, and it could be sex. It could be power, it could be wealth, right, with the price of your relationships that are supposed to be the most prized possessions on the earth. You know what's so funny? When you ask a lot of older people who are on their deathbeds, when they ask if you have any regrets I forgot what study I've read, but it was saying that a lot of them say they wish they spent more time with their children. They wish they spent more time with their grandchildren. It's all about relationships.
Edna Harding [00:15:38]:
And yet we forget that one factor. Right? That that is really ultimately the most important thing in life is the relationships you bring, the memories you create. Right? The the and and especially with God, it's all about souls. Right? Are you nourishing the souls that you have stewardship over? Because that's what God cares about. Right? He never told us to just, you know, steward the, our our wealth and, you know, our bodies and and our mind. Like, all of that stuff, yes, is important. But I truly believe that he cares more about souls and individuals more than those external things. Because those external things fade.
Edna Harding [00:16:31]:
But people who are made in God's image, those things are the most crucial things. And I felt like, you know, this is something that I'm emphasizing, especially now. Because if you look at all of the trends in the world today although there are you know what? I know honestly, I'm glad. I don't know if it's just the algorithms that that is bringing to my attention on my my LinkedIn feed, people who are actually valuing relationships now and valuing family and valuing, you know, creating those lasting connections with people and to slow down. But I'm so glad that they're bringing it up because when I was growing up and when I say growing up, meaning I was going through my early twenties and even my early thirties, as I was climbing up the corporate ladder, it was all about running on the hamster wheel and just go, go, go, go and pursuing the next level and getting promoted, getting raises, getting accolades, and you forget. I mean, I know people who gave up their dating life just to keep getting promoted and getting more money. And now, you know, they're in their late thirties and even early forties, and they don't have a husband. They don't have a wife because they spent all their time focusing on their career.
Edna Harding [00:18:01]:
And now they wish they slowed down because all their other friends who got married have kids and, you know, have a family because they realize that none of that stuff satisfied their soul, meaning they're still lonely. They still feel incomplete even after reaching all those accolades. Right? And so I'm I'm not saying that to be judgmental, but I'm saying that I think you really need to stop and slow down and really ask yourself, are your relationships deteriorating because of your pursuits? Because let me tell you, my friends, that is a major symptom of the bail system. Alright? And then number 5, which kinda relates to number 4 is mental and emotional exhaustion. And the question I'm gonna ask you is, are you feeling drained not just physically, but deep in your soul? And what is your soul? Your mind, your will, and emotions. Right? Are you feeling drained? Those are all symptoms of the bail system. Okay? So recognizing these signs are crucial. Because if you're you know, you can't fix something that you don't know exists.
Edna Harding [00:19:17]:
Right? You have to be aware. The very first step to solving your problem is admitting you have a problem. Right? So now that you know what you know. Right? Because I'm I'm believing God that as I go through as I went through that list and as I go through these next steps, that God's gonna reveal to you the areas where he wants you to surrender. Right? So understanding how to address those signs is even more important. Okay? So now you know the signs. Now what do we do about it? Right? I don't just point out your solutions. I like to bring I mean, sorry, problems.
Edna Harding [00:19:53]:
I like to bring solutions to your problems. So here are steps to realign with God's calling for your life. K? Number 1, return to the word. You need to anchor yourself in the scriptures. Anchor yourself in the word of God. It's truly our map and compass in a world that pushes us off course. Whenever I get lost in, in travel, like, meaning, like, when I'm, like, going super, super fast and I feel like I lose my bearings. You know how I've ever been done that before where you're, like, doing so much.
Edna Harding [00:20:26]:
I'm like, oh my gosh. Like, what am I supposed to be doing? Like, you you're doing so many things that you forget. Like, okay. What was I supposed to get done today? Like, because you just go go go go go. I like to stop and pause and just ask the Holy Spirit, God, speak to me through your word. Help me see what I can't see. You know, slow me down. Sometimes you could get, you know, misdirected and go a wrong path.
Edna Harding [00:20:51]:
You get back in the word, and the Lord will put you back where you need to be. Because I can tell you that because I'm I'm I'm gifted in many areas, I started pursuing things that were not part of my assignment. Does that make sense? And so one of the things that I love about the holy Spirit is if you truly seek him with all of your heart and lean on your own understanding, in all your ways acknowledge him, he will truly direct your path. That's not just a scripture or a fancy saying. That is truly the word of God. And I've seen this time and time again where I would get distracted. And even though it takes months, sometimes it took years for me to get back on track because I was so focused on go, go, go, go and not stopping. Like, okay, Holy Spirit.
Edna Harding [00:21:37]:
Guide me. Direct me. I feel like I your grace is not with me. Help me fix this. How do I fix this? It's him. He can fix it. But it starts off by reading the word of God and anchoring yourself in the truth that can truly set you free. Because if you are not anchored in the word of God and you're just running around in all types of directions, you're never going to get ahead.
Edna Harding [00:22:03]:
You will constantly be in that hamster wheel, and you will continuously be stuck, and you will continuously feel all those symptoms, right, of that uneasiness, that anxiety, that stress, that lack of completion. You just feel, like, empty. Like, all these things are all going to continue to persist until you to stop and listen, then ask the Lord for direction. And if you can't sit there and listen, the best thing you could do is just get in the word. Just read the scriptures, read the word of God, and he will help you navigate to the right word for that particular moment. The second step you need to do is seek godly counsel. You really truly need to surround yourself with wise believers who can speak truth in your life. I know you've hear a second of a broken record because I keep saying this over and over again in previous episodes.
Edna Harding [00:22:59]:
I'm sure. But this is so important. You need a community of mature believers who are ahead of you that can steer you in the right direction. I can't tell you how grateful I am to be around individuals who love God and love people, but most importantly are doing amazing things in the kingdom of God, and when it comes to the market place, because that's exactly what I wanna do. So I wanna learn from people who've already done it and have gone before me and have paved the way so that I don't make the same mistakes they did when they were navigating through this journey. Number 3, you need to embrace transparency. Remember that confession isn't just about admitting wrong. It's about opening the door to healing and renewal.
Edna Harding [00:23:48]:
I can't tell you how many times I've shared my struggles to people that would probably look at me in a certain way because of maybe thinking like, oh my gosh, it should be better than that. You know, like, I because I I don't wanna be fake. I truly wanna be authentic, and I truly wanna confess my sins before my brothers and sisters in Christ so they could discipline me and help me get back into the right direction because I don't wanna it's like one of those things. Like, if I know I'm blind, I don't wanna keep going and leading myself to if I'm blind, if I can't really see clearly at the end. So I'm hoping that God will direct me to people who see the end of that tunnel and who can encourage me and serve me the right way. And so how are they gonna know though if you're not being transparent with everything that you're dealing with? Because most of the time what I found is if you are just constantly like, oh my gosh. Like, I do no wrong. I'm the best.
Edna Harding [00:24:49]:
I'm always perfect. I never make mistakes. First of all, that's a lie. Secondly, like, you can't get better. Right? It's one of those things. Right? Like, you have to admit your weak areas. And it's not because you are just trying to condemn yourself and accuse yourself because I know that the enemy comes to accuse the brethren and not you. But it's just a way for you to pull off that band aid and address the root cause of what could be a stumbling block from being all that God wants you to be because of unconfessed sin, because of unconfessed weaknesses, because of strongholds in your mind, any barrier that could stop you from reaching your full potential can be addressed if you're transparent about the areas where you feel weak, which is when, again, comes down to community, right, and having that godly counsel.
Edna Harding [00:25:47]:
The 4th thing you can do is you need to cultivate contentment. What does that mean? You need to learn from Paul who found contentment in Christ regardless of their circumstances. You know, a lot of times we're always like, okay. Like, okay. I made 6 figures. Now we make multi 6 figures. Now if I made multi 6 figures, I'm gonna make, you know, 7 figures. Right? And you just wanna keep going going higher and higher and higher, and that's great.
Edna Harding [00:26:14]:
You know, it's good to be chasing the next big thing and challenging yourself to bigger goals, bigger projects, bigger influence, bigger stages. But what happens when that becomes your god? What happens when you pursue those things more than seeking God's face and just ministering to him, just worshiping him, just being grateful to him, just by thanking him and loving on him. Like, that's a struggle. Because a lot of times when we think of idolatry, we think, like, you know, it's gonna be a statue, but a lot of times it could be your dreams. I truly believe that your dreams and aspirations and divisions that God gave you can also be an idol. And I dealt with this time and time again, and I would always have to get a checkup from the neck up. Right? I really have to ask the Lord to check my heart and show me things that I can't see that have, exalted itself against the knowledge of Jesus Christ. I never want anything to take the place of my Lord and savior, even if it means my assignment.
Edna Harding [00:27:26]:
Right? Because a lot of times what I found is the enemy will not trick you with the bad things. He'll trick you with the good things. So he'll trick you with the good things. And, like, instead of the great things, he'll give you the good things. So you in your mind, you're thinking, oh, this is great, but in reality, we're just still settling. We're not experiencing all that God has for us because we're choosing the good things instead of the right things. And so I pray that you will have the servant this hour, that you would know which things to pursue and which things to lay down because the enemy is not gonna trick you with crappy stuff. He's gonna he's going to trick you with fantastic stuff, nice stuff.
Edna Harding [00:28:08]:
Right? And so you wanna always be, cognizant of the opportunities in front of you, especially now because I truly believe that the enemy knows his time is limited, and so he will send you and he will it's like, thank you, holy spirit. You know how the the scripture talks about the enemy doesn't disguise himself as a devil. He disguises himself as the angel of light. How I gather that is he disguises himself as the truth and his blessings and his favor and as, you know, grace and God's provision. When in reality, it's a counterfeit. It's not even God, but we think it's God because it looks like God, but it's not God. And the only way you'll know God is if you test the spirit behind it. But how do you test the spirit if you don't know the spirit of God? So this is the reason why a lot of people perish just because of lack of knowledge.
Edna Harding [00:29:04]:
Right? We don't know God's ways because we are depending to learn God's ways through a teaching from another person, instead of having our own experiential knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ. You see, when I was studying a bunch of spiritual teachings, business teachings, leadership teachings, mindset teachings, like, I'm a reader. I'm a learner. I call myself a professional student because I love learning new things, and I love being inspired by other people's journeys and the revelation and wisdom that they got. And I realized that I was living off of other people's revelation of God instead of my own revelation of God. And so I started pursuing him to teach me instead of depending on men and women to teach me who I believe love God. But that shouldn't be our first place to like, the first, sorry, first way for us to listen to God's voice. We need to discern God's voice for ourselves.
Edna Harding [00:30:10]:
And, also, I'm glad I'm I'm I'm thankful and grateful for those wilderness seasons because it's in those wilderness seasons that I really learned the voice of God is in those wilderness seasons that I truly saw the hand of God. And I've been able to truly distinguish the difference between the real holy spirit versus the counterfeit holy spirit. And I didn't always get it right. And I feel like as I have gone through this journey, you know, with eyes open wide, just really seeking God and really seeking his voice and seeking his truth, he's revealing to me more and more that I do hear from him and that I do hear his voice and that I am truly maturing in my walk with him. And although I still have a lot to learn, it's amazing to see how much I've how much I've grown in my walk with the Lord because I'm pursuing him intentionally. Alright. Which leads me to number 5, which is to prioritize spiritual discipline. Okay? These are your spiritual exercises.
Edna Harding [00:31:17]:
They strengthen you to stand firm against the tide. So what does that mean? What are spiritual disciplines? It includes fasting. It includes, giving, sowing, right, tithing, offering. It includes, worship. It includes spending time with the Lord, being ready, you know, getting instructions. When I say being ready, I believe that being ready in and out of season as well, is really important. There's so many instructions that God gives us in the New Testament and the Old Testament on what his expectations for the children. Some are obvious and some are hidden behind the texts or behind the stories of the men and women of God that God talks about and throughout the scriptures.
Edna Harding [00:32:05]:
But bottom line is if you make discipleship as a lifestyle versus a one time thing or a one day, one lesson at the week, but you're constantly learning the ways of God and learning the ways of Jesus at every moment of the day, this is a time when you start seeing the systems of the world versus the systems of God, and it's not easy to discern. And in fact, the scriptures even said that the very elite will be deceived. And it breaks my heart because I see it time and time again where the flock is being led astray because they don't know more because they're depending on men and women's revelation of God versus getting their own revelation of his truth and his word. And so, before we continue and before we conclude this episode, if you find yourself relating it to Eli or feeling the weight of the bail system, I truly invite you guys to consider joining my business unlimited growth mentoring program. I am in the process of recording the videos. I I believe I'm in week 4, but week 4, it sounds like you're not doing much, but I have a lot of lessons. And as I'm recording the sessions, I just feel the tangible presence of God, and I hear his sweet, still voice. And I know that this is gonna be such a profound, truth bearing program.
Edna Harding [00:33:44]:
And I'm so excited to be a vessel of what he's doing, but, you know, pray about and see if this is something that you and your organization, you and your spouse, maybe a a relative or a friend that you know that could really benefit from learning how to build a sustainable, thriving business based on biblical wisdom and timely methods. And so if you are interested in this, I want you to apply on my website. You know, this isn't just another business course. It isn't just a coaching program. It truly is a journey. Right? It's a journey. It's not a quick fix, but it's also not a long, long journey where you're just gonna, you know, be on this journey forever. There is a finish line.
Edna Harding [00:34:38]:
Okay? And and that's where I'm trying to be a vessel of is to get you to a point where you got the foundations down. Right? The you built that found solid foundation. So as you continue to build with the Lord and the Holy Spirit, that foundation is set. And that no matter what's going on around you, your house will stand firm. Right? Your business will stand firm because what we're gonna be doing is we're truly gonna be tackling the very issues, that, you know, that the bail system. I just discussed a few, but there's way more.
